R. MacEwan
Managing Partner
Tom MacEwan was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He graduated from
Saint Mary's University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. While attending
SMU, he participated in the Harvard Model United Nations as well as
the International Student Festival in Trondheim, Norway. Prior to commencing
his legal education, Mr. MacEwan attended the University of Windsor
for his Master of Arts Degree in Political Science.
Mr. MacEwan received his Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie University
in 1999. While at Law School, he was the recipient of the Arthur L.
Foote Bursary and was elected Third Year Representative for the Domus
Legis Society. Before joining Muttart Tufts Dewolfe & Coyle, Mr.
MacEwan articled with the firm of MacIntosh, MacDonnell & MacDonald
and, following his call to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2000, he became an
Associate and pursued a general practice for three years in Northern
Nova Scotia. Mr. MacEwan was appointed as a Per Diem Crown Attorney
in July 2001 and he has served as Facilitator in the Parent Education
Program in New Glasgow.
Mr. MacEwan joined the firm as an Associate in November of 2002. Mr.
MacEwan is focusing on commercial and civil litigation, while continuing
to practice in the areas of criminal law and family law. In addition,
Mr. MacEwan engages in By-Law Prosecutions for the Town of Kentville
and the Municipality of the County of Kings. He serves as a Facilitator
in the Parent Information Program.
Mr. MacEwan resides in New Minas with his wife, Kim MacEwan (née
Barr), their daughter, Grace and son, Aiden.
